Impact investing is becoming increasingly popular among private investors. Peter Jäderberg, founder and managing director of Jäderberg & Cie. is one of the pioneers of this form of investment as an impact investor. There is no question that the current investment offer JC Sandalwood Invest is impact-oriented on several levels. Climate protection and species conservation are two aspects of this.

In the online company presentation, Peter Jäderberg will go into the special features of impact investing. Rainer Weitzel will then present the sandalwood investments of Jäderberg & Cie. as a practical example. The focus will also be on this fascinating natural product, which is experiencing increasing demand worldwide while at the same time becoming scarce.

Learn how impact-oriented investing works even with relatively small amounts and become an impact investor yourself in a project that has so far been reserved mainly for institutional or very wealthy private individuals.

is a communications and sales specialist and a firm believer in tangible asset investments. He has been active in the investment world for almost 30 years, including over 20 years in various management positions at international financial services companies. At Jäderberg & Cie. he has found his heart's passion with "impact investing" and has been contributing his experience and expertise here since 2018.

The managing director and founding partner of the Jäderberg & Cie. group is an experienced multiple entrepreneur and is considered one of the pioneers in the field of natural asset investments. He has already initiated and successfully managed a variety of international alternative investment projects, mostly with sustainable assets. He has been active in the sandalwood sector since 2010. Peter Jäderberg is involved in various international networks on the topic of impact investing. The misleading by the capital market that their "sustainable investment" products would bring about sustainability in the real economy drives him in publications and presentations.

Christin is the managing partner of Innovestment GmbH and an entrepreneur by conviction. The further development of Innovestment into a digital investment boutique is closely linked to her own experiences and those of her community. She sees uncomplicated, low-cost financing options as the basis for economic growth in Germany. At the same time, she wants to inspire even more people for alternative types of financing with diverse asset investments. The certified financial investment broker (IHK) is involved in numerous organisations and associations and, as Chairwoman of the European Crowdfunding Network (ECN), pursues a pan-European approach to the industry.

"One does not talk about money" - but why not? We put an end to this taboo and invite you to participate. On our monthly Money Wednesday we will be dealing with the topic of finance in all its facets in a relaxed atmosphere.

We look forward to your participation and are open to your questions!

Target group: People who understand economic interrelationships as a component of our society and want to help shape them.

With the Innovestment-Talk "Money Wednesday" we want to share knowledge, create understanding for financial topics and create new impulses and perspectives on economic and social connections.

Innovestment stands for a new generation of financial services and for a democratization of capital. For us, this clearly involves open communication that goes beyond the boundaries of the company and opens up new horizons. Only in this way can we all form our own opinions on economic issues, question existing structures in the world of finance and create new ways of doing things that do justice to all of us.

One component of this can be to talk about what we can do with our money and what it can do for us and others. After all, in the savings account, our money is of no use to anyone - except the bank. The moment we invest it in a targeted manner, we make an active contribution to a functioning economy from which everyone benefits.

We are looking forward to your input.

30th September 2021

Every third person is considering buying an electric car, according to a recent study by Autoscout24, for which more than 5,500 participants from Austria, Germany, Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands were surveyed.  The other side of the coin: 41 percent of the respondents categorically rule it out. Besides the costs, the lack of charging infrastructure is the most frequently cited reason for rejection. In Germany, for example, a whopping 54 percent of respondents consider it "burdensome" to supply the e-car with energy because the charging network is too thin.

Something has to happen here if the last car with a combustion engine is to be newly registered as early as 2035.

emonet is getting to grips with it. The brand of Markus Hörning GmbH is already in the midst of implementation, precisely where the shoe pinches the most: in areas with a high stock of rental flats, in commercial areas and in urban areas with a lot of office space. In short: "charging infrastructure where you need it".

In our investment update, you can find out from emonet project manager Andreas Guba what's new, for example

  • on the foundation of emonet GmbH, which has now been registered
  • on the next properties in the pipeline, which are currently being examined
  • on the feedback from public utilities, car dealerships and municipalities, which are showing great interest in cooperating on the implementation

The functioning circular economy is the basis for more sustainability and resource conservation. Rinovasol makes a significant contribution to this through the refurbishment and recycling of solar modules and ensures that the generation of solar energy becomes even more sustainable and at the same time more cost-effective. In our investment update, Toralf Nitsch, CMO of the company and Josef Gemeiner (CEO) share with you among other things

  • what the innovative technology is all about, the process of which is about to be patented
  • how the expansion of production capacities at the headquarters in Weiden and in Pamplona/Spain is progressing
  • the potential of the new RETROFIT modules, for which a further plant will soon be built in Lisbon/Portugal.

Photovoltaics is the energy of the future. Today, solar plants already cover about 10 percent of Germany's electricity demand. Worldwide, it can become the most important source of electricity and thus pave the way to climate neutrality (source: www.energiezukunft.eu). So what could be more obvious than to make this type of energy generation even more environmentally friendly by recycling it?

Social entrepreneurs are committed to solving social and environmental challenges. The success of such enterprises is measured primarily by their social impact, not by their financial success. Nevertheless, social entrepreneurs also need financial resources to implement their goals. Alternative financing instruments such as crowdfunding offer an optimal complement to classic channels, especially since they also give them a higher public profile.

This webinar by the European Crowdfunding Network (EUROCROWD) in cooperation with the Social Entrepreneurship Netzwerk Deutschland e.V. (SEND) is about crowdfunding. (SEND) will focus on the interaction between platforms, banks, impact investors and institutions. Reports and discussions from practice and research:

  • Oliver Gajda, Executive Director EUROCROWD
  • Tino Kreßner, Co-Founder Startnext
  • Gerlinde Schmidt, Project Manager Euclid Network (EN)

Christin Friedrich, CEO Innovestment and Chairman of the Board EUROCROWD, will guide you through the event.

Experience the concentrated load of good practice examples from the areas of venture philanthropy, match-funding and impact investing. Scientific insights are promised by current research reports:

  • "Accelerating the SDGs - The role of Crowdfunding in Investing for Impact" (European Venture Philanthropy Association (EVPA)).
  • "Scaling up partnerships - A blueprint for the implementation of match-funding schemes between public authorities and crowdfunding platforms" (EUROCROWD)
  • "Impact crowdfunding. Improving the framework conditions for the promotion of impact-oriented social enterprises working together with citizens (SEND).

The attractiveness of electric vehicles is closely related to the ease of use. Battery charging plays an important role in this. It should be as convenient as possible, the charging point must be easy to reach, and it should also be as fast as possible and affordable.

But the expansion of the charging infrastructure is still sluggish. In order to speed it up, network operators, politicians and industry, especially car manufacturers, have to pull together.

Creative ideas are also needed. This is exactly what Andreas Guba, Project Manager of emonet, and Heiner Sprunk, Country Director Germany at Last Mile Solution, stand for. emonet is currently also active on our platform with a crowdinvesting campaign. In our online discussion, they shed light on the chances and challenges of the transport transition, reported on the status quo and showed what Germany can learn from other EU countries.

About Andreas Guba

Andreas Guba is a founder, technician and crowdfunding expert. The trained businessman for marketing communication is an enthusiastic shaper of the energy transition and a fan of new solutions and approaches. The topic of e-mobility has been driving the e-car driver for a long time. As CMO and project manager at emonet, he implements the concept of e-fueling stations in residential areas, business parks and central locations with office space for Markus Hörning GmbH.

About Heiner Sprunk

Heiner Sprunk has been working in electromobility since 2013 and has extensive knowledge and networks at German utilities and in many other industries. As Country Director Germany, he is responsible for the Germany-wide growth of Last Mile Solutions. The company is a pioneer in the management of charging infrastructure networks and offers the most comprehensive independent platform for electric vehicle charging and smart energy management.

In the past, the first port of call when it came to financing was the local bank. Today, there is a growing number of alternatives to the classic loan - suitable for the respective needs of the company. Crowdinvesting is one of them, which has also become increasingly established in the SME sector and is leading to a tendency to reduce the importance of banks in business financing.

What are the advantages and why do entrepreneurs opt for crowd financing?

At our Money Wednesday, Toralf Nitsch (Rinovasol), Andreas Guba (emonet) and Peter Jäderberg (Jäderberg & Cie) three entrepreneurs report on their motives for taking the path of public swarm financing (in this case on our platform innovestment.eu).

In an interview with Christin Friedrich, managing partner of Innovestment, Toralf Nitsch, Andreas Guba and Peter Jäderberg describe their goals and their experiences.

As a (potential) investor, you have the opportunity to get to know the people behind our projects and their approach better. Entrepreneurs who are themselves looking for suitable financing instruments will receive practical experience reports that can provide an important basis for their own decision in favour of swarm financing.

Here you can find more information about the projects here.

Do you already drive electrically? Or are you thinking about buying an electric car? If so, you have probably already dealt with the charging infrastructure, which is still severely lacking in many parts of the country.

Andreas Guba is himself a convinced e-car driver and knows the challenges of the current charging infrastructure from his own experience. No wonder he found his calling as CMO and project manager of emonet. Because emonet has big plans when it comes to charging infrastructure.

In the online company presentation, he gives you an overview of the status quo and explains the concept of emonet. Many people are rethinking - but emonet is taking action. And it is high time for this before our neighbours overtake Germany as a car country.

You can also find detailed information about emonet at here.

Why we should stop talking about retail investors

Even if the investor landscape continues to be dominated by institutional investors: private investors are playing a growing role in the capital market. Let's take the example of sustainable funds: 18 percent of investments come from private individuals (source: FNG Market Report). On average, they hold about 17 percent of DAX stocks (source: German Investor Relations Association). Trend: rising. In 2020, between four and 7.5 million Germans will have invested in shares, ETFs or funds for the first time (source: Civey/Finance Forward). Digitalisation makes it possible: access to both financial investments and information has never been easier than today.

Nevertheless, private investors are often referred to as "retail investors" - for example in the law of the same name. A term that, in our opinion, unnecessarily demeans them. Because the fact that they do have power is shown by examples such as the Game Stop share, whose price shot up by around 3,000 percent in the spring as a result of a concerted action to get one over on the hedge funds. Crowdinvesting is also a good example of individuals joining forces achieving big goals.

So let's rather talk about private investors and thus break a lance for their perception as responsible participants in the capital market. To do this, we invited two of them to our Money Wednesday. Ramona Faber and Mario Schäfer spoke with Christin Friedrich about their motivation and strategy for investing. How has their money mindset changed, what do they want from politics and platforms?

You can watch the online-webinar here (in German).

The euphoria was great when the regulation of the European crowdfunding industry was decided in October 2020. Where are we today, eight months later? What has happened in Brussels, but also in Germany, in the meantime?

Christin Friedrich is not only the managing director of Innovestment, but also the chair of the board of the European Crowdfunding Network (ECN/Eurocrowd). That's why she follows what's happening on both sides very closely and knows: achieving limitless (funding and investment) freedom is not that easy.

On Money Wednesday, she took us on a journey through Europe with an explicit stopover in Germany. Because here, one law in particular is causing explosives: the "Schwarmfinanzierungs-Begleitgesetz".

About ECN

Innovestment is a founding member of the Brussels-based non-profit organisation European Crowdfunding Network (ECN/Eurocrowd). Together with other European platform operators, we are committed to greater transparency, common standards and a fundamental understanding of the role of crowdfunding as an alternative form of financing and its potential for the European economy and society.

Furthermore, we are pushing for the European harmonisation of the crowdfunding market with the European Crowdfunding Service Provider Regulation (ECSPR) as the legal framework. Like the European institutions, we see great potential for the entire industry in Europe-wide expansion. In this, we enjoy the support of the European Commission, which promotes us as a key sector for improving access to capital for SMEs.

Sustainable financial education: Why it is so important to talk about money within the family

"I'm almost 18 and I don't know anything about taxes, rent or insurance. But I can write a poetry analysis. In 4 languages." - this tweet by student Naina went viral six years ago. The main criticism was that too little was taught about finance at school.

This has not changed much to this day. In 2017, ING-DiBa published a study on financial education in Europe, in which Germany ranked second to last.

The logical consequence: Ideally, financial education begins in the parental home. Because this is where children have their first contact with money, and quite early. Pocket money is often the order of the day from the age of four. From the age of a teenager at the latest, notes instead of toys are on the wish list anyway.

However, talking is even more important than giving. Only by talking to children about money can they be sensitised to the topic and learn about its value and how to manage it.

On Money Wednesday we talked to Michael Hildebrandt and Susanne Gundel. Both are experienced in investing (also at Innovestment), both have children, albeit at completely different ages.

In the talk with Christin Friedrich, managing partner of Innovestment, they talk about how they introduced their offspring to the topic of finances, how this changed their approach to money and what they contribute to their children's financial independence. We'll also talk about what alternatives there are to classic money gifts.

Trend sustainable real asset investments: What is behind them and why are they so important?

Investments in sustainable tangible assets are becoming increasingly popular. No wonder: they represent real values with growth potential. Unlike monetary assets, they are not subject to the low interest rate policy and develop independently of inflation. And there are also no price fluctuations as with shares.

Classic tangible assets are real estate or gold. But the world of tangible asset investments has so much more to offer! For example, the possibility of also investing in companies - and with a thoroughly sustainable approach that has an impact on both the environment and the economy.

The event was held in German.

When we talk about the energy mix of the future, photovoltaics play an increasing role. The technology is simple, efficient and cost-effective.

But what actually happens to old or damaged solar modules? The Rinovasol group of companies specialises in refurbishing used solar and photovoltaic panels. This significantly extends their life cycles and also creates a sustainable supply for the increasing demand.

If modules can no longer be refurbished, Rinovasol also takes over the recycling and returns the processed materials such as aluminium, plastic, glass or silicon and the precious metals to the cycle.

With this innovative business model, Rinovasol has already become the technology leader.

No one can report on this more captivatingly and passionately than the movers and shakers behind Rinovasol. Josef Gmeiner, CEO, and Toralf Nitsch, COO, told us more about their motivation and the future prospects of Europe's largest solution provider for the recycling and repair of solar modules during their online company presentation. They also answered questions from the participants. Christin Friedrich, CEO of Innovestment, led the discussion.

A journey to Australia. Together with Peter Jäderberg, founder and managing director of Jäderberg & Cie. we will take you into the impressive world of sandalwood. Even though we will probably not be able to convey the scent to you at this online event, the healing effects are surprising for many of us. Allow yourself this little mental time-out with numerous impressions from the JC plantations in Australia. Perhaps you too will want to become a part of this outstanding impact investment afterwards.

Sandalwood is extraordinary. It has two basic properties that make it so desirable: its fragrance and its healing power. This is especially true for the precious essential oil. It is used in Ayurvedic and Traditional Chinese Medicine and in many cultural and religious acts, especially in Asia. In the western world, the essential oil of sandalwood is an important ingredient in high-priced perfumes, in serious natural cosmetics and, in the future, in aromatherapy, food flavouring and the pharmaceutical industry.

"People don't talk about money" - but why not? Hans-Helmuth Föh has been doing so for a long time and with enthusiasm. He is a co-shareholder of Innovestment GmbH - and at the same time an experienced financial investment advisor who has been established in the world of traditional capital investments for years with his company Anlagenwert Hamburg.

What motivates his commitment to Innovestment as a digital investment and financing platform? Where does he see the opportunities, where the risks of digitalisation in financial investment? In conversation with Innovestment Managing Director Christin Friedrich, two generations come together - and two worlds that turn out to be a perfect match: that of traditional financial investment brokerage and that of digital platforms.

Ten years of crowdfunding in Europe - this is a milestone that deserves closer examination. At our Money Wednesday event, we focused in particular on the equity-based and credit-based forms of crowdfunding. What have we achieved in the last few years? And above all: What are the trends for the future?

Hardly anyone is closer to the topic than the European Crowdfunding Network (ECN) in Brussels. Executive Director Oliver Gajda provided first-hand insights. The interview was conducted by Christin Friedrich, Chairwoman of the ECN non-executive board.
