The lack of infrastructure in terms of charging points for electric cars is not only high on our agenda, but also on the agenda of media such as Handelsblatt and Umweltdialog. Also in focus this month: better framework conditions for social innovations and crowdinvesting as a high-profile financing tool in times of crisis.

Here we go:

Tens of thousands of charging points should already have been set up in this country thanks to huge subsidies. But companies are being held back by official chaos and approval procedures. How can better framework conditions be created for social entrepreneurs and social innovations? Under the hashtag #Wegebereiten, the SEND network is addressing questions like these in its political talks in preparation for the 2021 federal election. (talk in German)

Researchers from the Department of Entrepreneurship at TU Darmstadt and the Innovation Financing Group at Fraunhofer IMW have investigated how the financing form of crowdfunding responds to covidual unusual social and economic development and whether it can add value to society in times of high uncertainty and financial instability. An interesting report with many real-world examples. It shows: Public funding quickly makes the most relevant and pressing challenges or the problems of companies known to a broad public and thus also visible in the media. (article in German)
